RBI Futera XLF - New Sizes Available
The copper-fin giant of the RBI product line,
the is now available in a 2,500 MBH and a 3,500 MBH model in addition to the original 3,000 MBH and 4,000 MBH sizes.
Futera XLF Features
|
- Small diameter vent
- Full modulation
- Fits through standard 3-0 door
|
Don't forget that you can mix XLF boilers/water heaters with condensing RBI Fusions to reduce the number of condensing units required to meet load during peak heating months. This saves intial costs, but still allows a system to achieve high fuel efficiency. This type of system is called "base loading" or "front-end loading".

Smith - LWCO Maintenance
Technical Bulletin
Heading into another heating season, Smith is noticing an increase in residential steam boilers that have been subjected to operation with a low water level, otherwise known as "dry firing" as it is typically described.
Remember that probe-type low water cutoffs are not maintenance free! They require that the probe be removed and cleaned annually, which is the same service schedule as recommended for a float-type low water cutoff.
Be advised that a low water operating condition is not a manufacturing defect and is not covered under the terms of the warranty.
